The North Arrows are returning to League 1 for the first time since the district split into two (North and East) high schools during the 2007-2008 season. Both North and East are now in League 1 with Ward Melville, Longwood, Brentwood, Middle Country, Pat-Med, Lindy and Wm. Floyd.
North's move from League 2 back to League 1 was precipitated by the split of Smithtown High School's combined East and West program into to two separate teams for the current winter track and field season.
