Congratulations to Lindsay Romaine, Stephanie Curcio, Karley Dutra and Ally Waka for their successful assault of a school record at last night's League 1-2 Zeitler Relay meet at Suffolk West. Their time of 23:51.8 broke a 2004 mark of 24:06.6.
Lindsay's strong leadoff leg of 5:42.4 put the squad in very good position to break the record. Stephanie ran a 5:53.6 second leg, Karley ran 6:13.8 in leg 3 and Ally put the icing on the cake with a 6:01.9 anchor leg.
Sachem alumni (including Christina DeLeon -- a member of the 2004 record relay) and team members cheered as each runner charged around Suffolk West's 200 m. track. The school record capped an outstanding team meet at League 1 relays.
